Guitar and Pen Friday
As the end of Friday approaches, I have to go with the three votes for posting lyrics as is. Here is my first entry. This was posted previously in another post but here it is on it's own. For my wife Angell. The green Gretsch to the right is my current axe! I welcome your comments! I plan to put some guitar on this TONITE...then on to IAC!BY YOUR SIDE
I have been reminded by your touch
Of the many many times
That I was a wreck, I was a mess
And you were there by my side
With everything you have to do
You still found the time
To pick me up once again
I'm so lucky you are mine
This time seems much harder
There actually is a reason
And you're still by my side
From so many stormy seasons
But here I am again
Wishing you were here
I know you're not too far away
(I'm still) Wishing you were here
I need you feel you skin on skin
I need to hear your voice again
I never want to leave your side
I never want to leave your side

The lyrics are very good! I can't wait to hear it on IAC.
Thanks Metalchick! Now it's time for the guitar part! This is the part that stops me in my tracks but NOT THIS TIME!
Thanks again!
Thought I'd check out what a fellow Macca fan gets up to.
Don't you just wish he'd regain the swagger and experimental confidence of "Ram" again? I suspect those days are gone. But I still love practically everything he does.
Be interested to hear the song on IAC. Must get some of my stuff posted too, but for the present I've dedicated myself to the painting side of things. The lyric seems good. I always try to imagine what it would be like to sing, where the vowels are, will they have expended all my breath before I get to the end of a line, etc. I think there's a big difference between a lyric and a poem.
That is very sweet. It communicates well the trusting relationship you have with your wife.
ian:You are right about the lyric and poem...something to be read is not always something to be sung...if Sir Paul could come back the way Pete has, with a seemingly new found power and, as you say, swagger, perhaps we would hear some of his old confidence...
PTFan: Thank you too! You really nailed it about the lyric. You found the essence of the song! I am blessed by your comment! Thank you, and long live rock!
There should be a part two.. that is, if I remember. :P

lynsey, write it and they will read it!
Rock on, dude!

Hi Lionel,
you need to finish the music and put this up on IAC. I was reading your lyrics and humming along to my own invented tune, but something tells me yours is going to be much better.
Cheers,
AM
Dear Sir
...it just sounds right, that way.
I am very impressed. The lyrics did bring a tear to my eye. I can quite relate. You have managed to express how a relationship happens!
Nice Axe!
:)
Dale
I am an avid mountain biker.
Have you ever been to Moab?
I've never ridden the slickrock there, but most of my friends have.
I am too busy with home, kids & work, but we have some excellent local trails.
Dale
AM:It is flattering to think someone was singing my lyrics!! I started on the chords this weekend...we're talking pop song here!! Your post made my day!!
Dale: "The lyrics did bring a tear to my eye." OK, first AM's comment now this! You guys are awesome! Thanks so much...I do some biking here in Phoenix, but right now it is almost 100 degrees by 9am! Never been to Moab...hear it is quite the ride!
Who fans are the most wonderful people in the world!
Long Live Rock!
Lionel
Aww, you're just too sweet. I like looking at lyrics and imagining the music I'd make up to it. I used to write songs, you know, before I became a "respectable" teacher. ;) I even had one or two recorded by a friend who was in a band.
And thanks for the positive feedback on my novel. I do hope you like it- I originally wrote it because no one was writing rock and roll novels and I wanted to read one. Of course all my friends will get autographed copies.
Cheers,
AM
Lionel
I am sorry but I can't resist this verification word - from one mountain biker to another... I hope you'll understand.
...rcskd
Dale, it went over my head!! I DON'T GET IT!!! My OCD is kicking in, so you have to tell me what that means before I go nuts!!
It is hell hot here in Phoenix, but I may have to hit some early morning trails! You inspired me!
